It's been too too long. The Band Dance was pretty awesome. I danced the night away...as was expected of me! lol It was so cooold, so the ride back was miserable. Ben and I went out to eat...at Jimmy John's. ....Who does that!?! Oh well, it actually was nice. Then I went to pick him up at Carroll, and he gave me chocolates and a stuffed dog that said Puppy Love ( More on that later). The chocolates were Take 5's....(more on that later too). Dance was pretty good, they played You're A Net, and Don't Stop Believing, and just a bunch of good ones....After the dance, Ben asked if I liked the chocolates, "they're your favorite right?" ...I had never eaten a Take 5 bar in my life. I was like eeerrr no, Reese's fastbreaks are my favorite. He was like no way....and then didn't say anything. I get home the next day and tell Mad about it, and she tells me that Ben actually texted her to ask her what my favorite candy was....She said it's the peanut butter one, I think it's called a Take 5. OHH, MAd. lol. So Mad texted him to say, woops. It was funny. I ate them alll and kinda liked them tho so It wasn't too bad.
Yesterday Mom and Gramma came to see my play. We got to have dinner and get lots of groceries,so it was a great visit. They are awesome. Well Ma also brought up Jake and I's snowboards. I thought there were some hills around here when I went out this morning.....welp there aren't. All the ones behind the convent towards the river are covered in trees. ...It's hard to snowboard down those. So I walked back into campus and found a gentle slope on the side of Moreau. This is across from the post office and the entrance to Holy Cross. Well I looked ridiculous cause the board wasn't going down fast enough, so I was just shuffling down this tiny, gentle slope. Needless to say, it was a wasted morning.
I hope to find another hill today sometime. We shall see.

Hola amigas!
I miss you all so much. I know I planned on having average adventures while you all were gone, but so far I am contradicting myself. Technically they are no where near as comical and thrilling as Natalie's nor as exciting as I'm sure Kim and Cece's will be, but they are pretty eventful for the South Bend Life.
Ok First off, I was gone from school for three days, SO I had so much work to make up. I thought it was going to be super rough getting it all done, but my professor's were so supportive and I am back on track as of 2 hours ago.
Next Damon came up the weekend after I got back. He's my best friend from home, so that was so awesome. He came just in time for a lady gaga party. Thursday and Friday I spent a lot of time at the mall and online trying to figure out what would be the best lady Gaga look. I decided on the Just Dance cover so I needed a zebra shirt the blue lightning bolt and Lady Gaga hair. Well wigs were 20 bucks so I decided it would be much easier to cut my own hair...well I could only do it after my homework..So 3 A.M. Rolls around and I decide that would be a perfect time to cut my hair. False. I cannot see straight at 3 AM clearly because when I woke up in the morning my bangs dropped to my cheek at a jagged slant instead of laying right across my eyebrows. They also stuck straight out from my forehead. I don't know if you can recall Lady Gaga's hair but it does not stick straight out. So I kept it back as well as I could, then ran to the mall after classes to get it cut the right way. Well the lady did an awesome job and it only cost me 5 bucks, 10 after tip. So I still came out cheaper than the wig! Damon drew the lightning bolt and I felt exactly like her. It was awesome! The party wasn't as exciting as I had hoped but I still felt awesome with Lady Gaga hair and a lightining bolt walking around campus.
Hockey Band was awesome as always. I told Kim that it's crazy that the saxophones have to fit like 5 and 6 across. Clarinets feel squished with more than 3. We are so spoiled. Damon got to play with us so that was cool. He loves all the songs.
Did you know that there is no Saxophone choir this year. Schwinn said it was because there was no one to run it! So now Schwinn is in Clarinet Choir playing 3rd part. Crazy. But I'm glad we got him. I didn't even know he was in there the last rehearsal tho. Oops.
I went to see a Dietician on campus. Don't ever go. It is a waste of time. I still eat sweets like crazy, and nothing she said really helped, or made the half hour appointment worth it.
I think Natalie is the only one that still needs filled in on this next piece of news. Mr. (Did we ever think of a fake name for him) Well the guy who I was a little enamored with last semester, asked me to the Band Dance. Ben had already asked me, So I had to tell him no. I called Cece and Kim to try to think of a way to say no, but still sounds hopeful. It was very nerve-wracking. Well then we had to find a date for some clarinets that wanted set up, so since he may not have had a date, I decided to see if he was up for it. So i actually walked up and talked to him this time! It was exciting. I am known for my balls of steel tho, aren't I? Well now he is going with that girl, So I will definitely see him at the dance, and he might even ride our bus or go to the Clarinet Pre-Party for a little while. I am kinda worried about who all will see this....uh oh.. Oh well
So I'm just biding my time until the Band Dance this weekend! I can't wait to go with Ben. He is an awesome Dance date. A guy that will dance the entire time...priceless. I will let you all know immediately what happens.
Stay tuned for more Average Adventures!

Who knew it could hurt this bad?
Yesterday I lost the first member of my family. My grandpa passed away sometime early Friday morning. I got the phone call on my way to see an Opera in Chicago. Dad came and picked me up. No one really know whats to say or do. I don't even kno what to say or feel. I didn't even get to say good-bye, it was so sudden. Right now, I'm on this huge roller coaster. Sometimes I'm thinking about all the funny things he said and then I'll see a picture of the two of us and he's looking at me with this huge smile. He loved us so much! I miss him so much. ...and then I just break down. I thought at some point I would run out of tears. Tuesday is the showing and I'm really afraid. I don't know if I can see him. I don't think it's sunk in yet that he's not coming back. Once I see him I'll know and it's gonna hurt real bad. I've never been to a funeral and I don't want to see so many people crying. I don't know if I'm supposed to tell people so at least they know, or if I'm supposed to not tell so they don't think I want a sympathy vote. There's no manual for this kind of thing.
Just thought you guys should know. I'm not at school now so I'm going back and forth from Indy to South Bend. I miss you so much!

So my first few nights in the dorm were actually quite eventful. The first night I woke up many times in the the middle of the night to add more blankets because it was like the Arctic had visited out room... it was bad! So we told Kristin about it while she was over and she said "Well why don't you turn on the heat!?" ....D'oh. I guess the first day of classes was too overwhelming for us to realize the simplicities of life...like turning on the heat when you are cold.
SO Kristin turned on the heat and all day we were fine. Well we went to bed without the need of 3 dozen extra blankets-happy and content....BUT NOT FOR LONG!!! Next thing I know I am waking up at 4 in the morning, sweating like crazy and just swimming in the thickest stagnant air I have ever attempted to breath. So in a crazed frenzy I tried to find a fan....oh the fans I missed from last semester. But My little one was underneath my loft completely out of reach. So I tried to scramble down out of my loft- as well as a complete sleep-drunk stupor can manage- and I went to the heater to turn it COMPLETELY OFF! By this time I was going crazy. Red curls were flying everywhere I was panting...still attempting to breathe this air that felt thicker than Wisconsin cheese. I climbed back up into my loft...which guess what, was still just as hot an stagnant so I climbed back down and tried to look for my fan but it was attached to my bed and the cord wasn't long enough so I went to sleep on the couch. Well After attempting to sleep for like 20 seconds I realized that I needed the fan so I tried to think of a way to attach it to the couch...(keep in mind this was like 4:12 in the morning and I wasn't thinking correctly) ...well believe it or not the fan could not "attach" to the couch. So I decided to hook the fan to a chair and drag it as close as I could to the couch ...well that wasn't close enough so I got a blanket from my bed and threw in on the floor as close to the chair and the fan as I could. Well even tho I was now closer to the fan I was still sweating like crazy and the hair was still ...just.. so.. hot. So in a final act of desperation I crawled painfully to the very edge of the hardwood as close as I could to the crack in the bottom of the door where I could feel cool air coming. Here is where I was found at the time of my alarm the next morning at 9 am.
Let's just say the second night was not well spent. So now we turn the heat on low all day and then turn in completely off during the night. So far, none of us have woken up in crazed stupors. ...for now!
More Average Adventures to come!

Today was the first day of classes. ..... ...... ...... That's all I have to say about that.
My room is awesome!! Having only three people opens up soo much space. I think we are going to add another futon and we have both of Kim's ND chairs up....Yeah we're talking THAT big! Most of our furniture is in a permanent balancing act. For example, the extra desk is balancing on the extra reems of paper we had and a set of books that someone (...Kim) did not want to take back with them.....so we put them to good use. The purpose of setting the desk on the books was so that it could be raised several inches to incorporate a fridge where the chair would normally go. This desk now sits by the TV and is our pantry.
In order for Mad and I to get onto our beds we stuck the extra chair between our two lofts. This was in front of her storage unit thought. So we raised the storage unit up on this make shift shelving unit...so that is also balancing there for now.
Everyone loves the TV, so thank you for that Kim. The water is also very exciting...and it hasn't even been delivered yet! The Run, Forest, Run license plate has already been commented on like 4 times. The vaccuum has been used already like 5 times. So that was a super hit.
Who left the green shower caddy?! Did you know it has a secret soap compartment!! Who knew. I have not disposed of it because of this secret compartment. It is currently residing in a safe space in the extra closet.
Oh and Cece Thank you so much for the Bracelet. It looks amazing. I have already lost it twice before I even got it on, so the fact that it was found twice and made it onto my wrist is a feat in itself. If this bracelet is meant to last....so are WE!!! lol
More Average Adventures to come!
P.S. I would like to point out just how average my adventures are.... Natlie talked of the freaking Roman Coliseum and Umbrella vendors, and ordering food in another language...in about 2-3 paragraphs. I spent the same amount of space talking about a secret soap compartment in a leftover shower caddy. "Average" this semester is just going to be greeeat.v
